Kotappakonda is also called as Sri Trikoteswara Swamy temple. Kotappakonda is located in Palnadu district which is 20km from Chilakaluripeta and Narasaraopet. The temple which is at a height of 600 feet to 1500 feet is said to be existence even before 1172 A.D. Kotappakonda is also called trikuta hills. Kotappakonda hills appears with 3 peaks in any direction which is in triangle shape it is also called trikutadri, trikutaparvatham. The three hills are called bramha, Vishnu and Maheshwara(Rudra) hills.


The main temple that is Trikoteswara Swamy temple is located in bramha shikharam seeing the great devotion of devotee gollabhama. Trikoteswara Swamy came from Rudra shikharam to bramha shikharam. Rudra shikharam the old kotayya temple is located here. This is the first place where old Trikoteswara Swamy temple located.

Vishnu shikharam lord Paapanaseswara temple located here.it is believed that lord Vishnu did penance for lord Shiva. There is also a holy pond which is "paapanasa Teertha located here.
